Role Overview

Starling is seeking engineers at all levels, including Senior iOS Engineers, to join their technology team. The role involves building and enhancing a feature-rich mobile app used by millions of customers. Engineers are expected to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on disruptive technology and customer-centric solutions. Responsibilities

  • Build, design, ship, and maintain code for the iOS application.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional feature teams.
  • Contribute to the development of in-house tools and frameworks to enhance developer productivity and automation.
  • Write robust, well-tested code focusing on reliability and user experience.
  • Apply expertise in Swift, UIKit, and MVVM-C architecture.
  • Prioritize security, Accessibility, and clean, maintainable code in all implementations.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and ensure process efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience with Swift and UIKit concepts and components is a must.
  • Understanding and prioritization of security when implementing features, fixing bugs, or making technical improvements.
  • Focus on Accessibility and writing clean, maintainable code.
  • Ability to take full ownership of tasks from building to shipping and maintenance.
  • Experience with reactive programming (e.g., RxSwift) is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like SnapKit, Realm, Sourcery, SwiftGen, SwiftFormat, SwiftLint, and Danger is beneficial.

Interview Process

The interview process is designed to be conversational and collaborative:

  1. Initial chat with the Talent Team.
  2. First Interview (~45 minutes).
  3. Take-home technical test (no time limit).
  4. Technical face-to-face interview (~1.5 hours).
  5. Final Interview (~45 minutes).
