Responsibilities

  1. Doing routine cell culture to maintain different cell lines, primary cells, etc.
  2. Conducting transfection, transduction and nucleofection to introduce genes of interest into cell lines.
  3. Doing basic imaging and flow cytometry to analyze expression.
  4. Creating Cell line stocks and maintaining a record.
  5. Creating and maintaining a meticulous record of plasmid/bacterial stocks.
  6. Plasmid isolation, bacterial culture and maintenance.
  7. Conduct cloning of genes of interest, regulatory elements, and vector components using various methods and requirements for quality control and accuracy.
  8. Maintain detailed and organized records of experimental conditions, vector analysis, bacterial stocks, project data, and results.
  9. Contribute to the analysis of technical data and adaptation and improvement of routine methods.
  10. Operate, maintain, and clean equipment, maintain/order supplies, and manage waste.
  11. Maintain timely and detailed entries into an electronic notebook and database.
  12. Assist in refinement and development of company SOPs.
  13. [Senior RA Only] Independently design experimental plans with some supervision of research scientists.
  14. [Senior RA Only] Coordinate and delegate tasks for Research Associate I.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors or Masters of Science [Senior RA Only] in Cellular Biology or related field. New graduates with at least 6 months of relevant lab experience are welcome to apply.
  2. Basic experience in Tissue culture and cell line maintenance.
  3. Proficiency in PCR methods, DNA Binding, Western Blotting, ELISA, ChIP, immunostaining, and multiplexed protein assays.
  4. Experience with different cloning methods is desirable.
  5. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Collaborative attitude with eagerness to learn.
  7. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as pipetting and standing for long periods (2-4 hours).
  8. Ability to read small text and labels.
  9. Maintain a flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends

Recommended

  • Familiarity with working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience working with cell lines
  • Experience with flow cytometry or imaging.
  • Familiarity with handling hazardous substances including liquid nitrogen and biohazards such as bodily fluids. Lab safety training will be provided and will be completed within 1 month of hiring
  • [Senior RA Only] At least 6 months of industry experience or 1 year of experience designing research projects
