The Opportunity

The integrations team is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer, to bolster our rapid expansion to new business verticals. Our customer-facing software continues to solve crime for new customer personas, resulting in new partnerships and integrations. To keep momentum, we must integrate with various data sources that provide real-time crime and operational context on multiple FlockOS surfaces.

Youll be working on integrating a variety of real-time law enforcement systems, specifically computer-assisted-dispatch (CAD). You will also provide feedback to our developer hub with a growing list of APIs for developers.

A key part of this role will be to partner and communicate daily with customers, 3rd party vendors, and all stakeholders to ensure custom integrations are scoped, built, delivered, and supported successfully.

The Skillset

  1. Love writing code and have extensive experience doing so
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in customer-facing communications
  3. Able to organize, keep track, and deliver multiples projects in parallel
  4. Motivated by taking an unknown problem, sinking your teeth in, and coming up with a plan of attack.
  5. Proficiency in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and integration.
  6. Proficiency with relational database systems especially PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server and a solid understanding of database design principles
  7. Experience in integrating and syncing data between disparate systems, including resolving data format inconsistencies
  8. Understanding of on-premise networks, including firewalls, VPNs, and network configurations, to ensure seamless system communication and data transfer.
  9. Experience with Go and Typescript Node web services
  10. Experience with microservice-oriented architecture and designing systems at scale We process over 1 billion images daily in real-time.
  11. Strong backend/database and pub/sub experience, we leverage Postgres DB, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, Redis use the right tool for the job
  12. Experience with AWS and cloud tooling such as Kubernetes EKS, AWS Lambda, Docker
  13. Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external engineering and product teams
  14. The ideal candidate will have experience with CAD systems and databases

90 Days at Flock

  1. Our First Chat: During this first conversation, youll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background, what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are.
  2. The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field.
  3. The Technical Assessment: Our technical assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day.
  4. The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners.
  5. The Executive Review: A chance to meet an executive in your function and view Flock from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more.
