Emergent builds autonomous coding agents that replace traditional software development by generating, testing, and deploying production applications directly from plain-language intent. Our systems run in production at global scale and are used to build millions of real applications. Since public launch, Emergent has reached $100M ARR in 8 months. 6M+ users across 190+ countries have built 6.5M+ applications on Emergent. We've raised $100M+, backed by Khosla Ventures, SoftBank, Google, Lightspeed, Prosus, Together, and Y Combinator.
We're solving the hard part of AI-driven software creation: correctness, reliability, security, and scale in real production systems. The team is built by repeat founders, Olympiad medalists, IIT & IIM alumni, and leaders from Google, Amazon, and Dropbox.
We're hiring builders who want ownership, speed, and impact at global scale.
We're hiring a Finance Operations Executive to own financial reconciliation and business finance at Emergent.
- Reconcile daily revenue flows across payment gateways, platforms, and internal systems, catching gaps, mismatches, and timing differences before they compound
- Own the end-to-end revenue ledger from transaction-level data to period-close sign-off
- Manage cost-side reconciliation across all external parties - matching POs, invoices, and actuals on a recurring basis
- Track external party SLAs, deductions, and credits; ensure payables are processed accurately and on schedule
- Identify cost leakages, duplicate charges, or billing errors and drive them to resolution
- Use SQL to pull and validate financial data directly from source systems, no waiting on the data team for every query
- Build and maintain trackers that give real-time visibility into reconciliation status and open items
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting packs, translating reconciliation outputs into clear business summaries
- Spot patterns in discrepancies over time and recommend process improvements to reduce manual effort
- Serve as the go-to contact for internal teams and external parties on all reconciliation and billing queries.
- 2–4 years of experience in Finance Operations, Business Finance, or a similar analytical finance role
- Strong foundation in reconciliation, you understand the why behind the numbers, not just the process
- Working knowledge of SQL: comfortable writing queries to extract and validate data
- Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (pivots, lookups, dynamic reporting)
- Familiar with accounting principles and how financial transactions flow across systems
- High attention to detail with the ability to communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Experience working with external parties or finance teams on billing and payables
- Experience in a startup, fintech, or high-growth environment where processes were built, not inherited
- Prior exposure to payment reconciliation, revenue operations, or marketplace finance
- Exposure to ERP or finance tools (Zoho Books, Tally, SAP, or similar)
- Not a transactional data-entry role
- Not a support function that waits to be told what to investigate
- Not slow, siloed, or disconnected from business outcomes
- Own financial reconciliation end-to-end with real accountability from day one
- See the full picture of how the business makes and spends money
- Work at the intersection of Finance, Operations, and Data in a fast-moving environment
- Build processes and controls from the ground up, not inherit a broken spreadsheet
- Grow into a broader Finance or Operations leadership role as the company scales
